Hans Supritz

Hans Supritz , actually Johann Valentin Supritz (born April 18, 1939 in Bačka Palanka ( German  Plankenburg ), Kingdom of Yugoslavia ) is the federal chairman of the Danube Swabian Landsmannschaft in Germany and vice-president of the Danube Swabian umbrella organization .

Life

Hans Supritz birthplace Bačka Palanka in the Batschka belonged to the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in 1939; two years later, the place came under Hungarian administration and is now part of the autonomous province of Vojvodina in Serbia . After many years of visits to labor camps his family from Yugoslavia was expelled and arrived in 1954 to Ulm . After training as a radio mechanic, Supritz completed a degree in communications engineering as a graduate engineer . In 1969 he married Brigitte Dorsch from Ulm and had two children.

For more than 35 years, Hans Supritz has been involved in country team work, first in the "Ulm District Association", then in the "Heimatortgemeinschaft (HOG) Bačka Palanka" and since 1993 in the " Baden-Württemberg State Association of Danube Swabians", of which he became Chairman in 1997. Since 2001 Supritz has been the federal chairman of the "Landsmannschaft der Donauschwaben in Germany" and since 2004 one of the vice-presidents of its world umbrella organization. He is also a member of the board of the " Donauschwäbisches Zentralmuseum Foundation " and on the board of the "Donauschwäbisches Kulturstiftung des Landes Baden-Württemberg". He also works as the editor-in-chief of the association's magazine "Der Donauschwabe - Mitteilungen". In Vojvodina he campaigned for the erection of memorials at the places of displacement.
