Harry Manfredini
Harry Joseph Manfredini (born August 25, 1943 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American film composer.
Live and act
Prior to his career in the film business, Manfredini studied at DePaul University in his hometown of Chicago, where he received a bachelor's degree in music. He then attended Western Illinois University , where he graduated with a Master of Arts.
He made his debut as a film composer in 1975 for the Oscar- winning short film Angel and Big Joe . In the same year he contributed the music to the short documentary film The End of the Game by Robin Lehman, which was also awarded an Oscar . Increasingly he specialized as a composer for horror films.
The 1978 film Manny's Orphans was the first collaboration with director and producer Sean S. Cunningham . Two years later, the horror film Friday the 13th was made , in which the two worked together again. Harry Manfredini was responsible for the soundtrack of almost all parts of the Friday the 13th film series until 1988 and to this day the two have worked together on all of Cunningham's projects.
The 1982 film Das Ding aus dem Swamp was the first collaboration with Wes Craven . The year before, Manfredini had worked with director Steve Miner for the first time . Harry Manfredini also worked with these two several times. Manfredini hosted the 8th Annual HollyShorts Film Festival at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood from August 9th to 16th, 2012.
Since 2002 he has also been working increasingly for television.
