Harlan Pratt (born December 10, 1978 in Redwater , Alberta ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player . His brother Nolan was also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Harlan Pratt began his career with several clubs in the Western Hockey League , one of Canada's major junior leagues. Especially in the two years with the Prince Albert Raiders , the right- shooter showed his qualities on the offensive: In the 1996/97 season Pratt scored 33 points in 65 games. He was then selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 124th place in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft .

For the 1998/99 season, the defender first moved to the Toledo Storm in the East Coast Hockey League , where he was later active for the Florida Everblades . From 2001 to 2003 Pratt also played for various AHL teams, including the Springfield Falcons . However, the Canadian was mostly entrusted with defensive tasks in the AHL, but this did not correspond to his style of play. So Pratt decided to move to Europe for the first time in the 2003/04 season, where he first played a few games for TPS Turku in the Finnish SM-liiga . The defensive player then signed a contract with the Italian first division club HC Meran .

From 2004 to 2006 Pratt tried again to assert himself in the AHL, but his fate remained the same at the second attempt at the Falcons and a second season with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers . The Canadian had only 22 scorer points in two years, so that he joined the Augsburg Panthers from the German Ice Hockey League for the 2006/07 season. With 27 points from 52 games, the defender also impressed offensively and established himself as one of the most stable defenders in the entire league. Since the Panthers clearly missed the play-offs , Pratt moved to the Austrian club Vienna Capitals for the finals , with whom he was eliminated in the semifinals. After the 2007/08 season , which he spent again with the Augsburg Panthers and in which he was invited to the DEL All-Star Game , Pratt decided to switch to the reigning German runner-up Kölner Haie . On January 30, 2009 it was announced that Harlan Pratt was going to join the ZSC Lions in Switzerland until the end of the season , but was never used by the Zurich team.

The following season he started at HDD Olimpija Ljubljana , but left it in January 2010. In the 2010/11 season he was under contract with the Swedish second division club Tingsryds AIF . In July 2011 Pratt received a contract with Alba Volán Székesfehérvár from the EBEL.
