Hazel the Nut is a German pop-punk - band from Großlangheim , 2012 from the cover band Apple Juice emerged.

history

When the company was founded in spring 2012, the four musicians recorded the first four self-written songs in the studio and produced the first demo EP . In July 2013 the band played as support for Swingin 'Utters in Würzburg .

The first album Welcome to Hazeltown was released in 2013. The first professional music video for the song Oh Shit was filmed in early 2015, which was filmed in the “Club Ludwig” in Würzburg and in the city's old Bürgerbräu building.

In 2015 the band was voted "Band of the Year" at the regional music award for young bands from Northern Bavaria.

In autumn 2015 the group appeared in the opening act of Manfred Mann's Earth Band and played as support for the band “The Offenders” in Bamberg . From February to April 2016, together with other musicians and media students, they took part in a band exchange with the Swedish city of Umeå , which was funded by the European Union , among others .

In June 2016, Hazel the Nut released their second album called Love Me or Hate Me . The financing for this took place in part via crowdfunding . The Austrian Stefan Beham, who had already worked on album and poster designs for bands such as The Offspring , Sum 41 and Zebrahead , could be engaged for the artwork . The guest singer is the Swedish artist Magda Andersson.

The band had their largest audience up to then on the Radio Gong "Summer Open Air", where they played as the opening act for SDP in front of over 9000 spectators.

With Namika , Wincent Weiss and Bayern's Newcomerbands of the Year 2016 they played together at the Newcomer Contest Bayern in front of more than 2000 fans.

Christopher Wagner left the band at the beginning of 2017, and Felix Thüncher joined the band as the new bass player. In the summer of 2017 they played on the Ab geht die Lutzi in Rottershausen , where bands like Itchy and Madsen were headliners.

In spring 2018 there was another change on the bass. Nick Ruth replaced Felix Thüncher on bass guitar and has been part of the 4-piece combo since June 2018. They have been working with the mammuth music label since 2018 . In 2018 there was an appearance at the free and outside in Würzburg, which is Bavaria's largest free open air. At the end of 2018, the band won the award for best punk band at the German Rock and Pop Prize in Siegen .

On March 1, 2019, the music video of "A + Girl", the first single from the new album "Animal Birthday Party", which was released at the end of March 2019, was released. The release concert took place in Würzburg and was the first stop on a Germany tour that the band u. a. led to Berlin , Munich , Hamburg and Frankfurt am Main .
