He Is is a song by the American singer Brandy . It was written by Warryn Campbell , Harold Lilly and Brandy. The co-production by Brandy and Campbell was released as a promotional single from the singer's third studio album, Full Moon . The song, released on September 17, 2002, did not enter the Billboard Hot 100 charts, but was a moderate hit on the R&B / Hip-Hop charts at number 78.

background

The song was originally intended by the author and gospel interpreter Warryn Campbell as a pure gospel number that was supposed to praise God . However, Brandy declined and rewrote the song into a ballad with secular content. Still, Lilly and Campbell kept - subliminally - the spiritual meaning in the text. The song speaks of God in the third person ("And I'm so glad you're my / Prince charming, my angel / My king and my friend / My love, my one / He is, he is."; " And I am so glad that you are my lovely prince, my angel, my king and my friend, my love, my only one / he is, he is "). They had unwittingly "hyped" Brandy into a gospel song and told the singer that the title was about birth. That was also what convinced Brandy to include the title, as she was heavily pregnant herself during the release. That's why she didn't shoot a music video or sing the song live, nor did she appear on talk shows to promote the title. In the MTV - Reality -Show Brandy: A Special Delivery could Brandy in the recordings of Pop see remixes, with Robert Smith. This version was also sent to the radio stations.
