Full Moon ( Engl. For full moon ) is the third studio album by the American R&B singer Brandy . It was released in Europe on February 25 and in Canada and the United States on March 5, and featured Another Day in Paradise , What About Us? , Full Moon and He Is produced four single releases.

production

Committed for their third album Brandy rapper Ja Rule and producer Babyface , Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo , but none of the resulting work made the jump to the track list of the album, instead landed many Darkchild productions on the album ( What About Us? , When You Touch Me ). In addition to the songs produced by Jerkins, recordings were also made with Warryn Campbell, Mike City, Keith Crouch, Fred Jerkins III and Robert "Big Bert" Smith, with whom she was dating at the time.

Brandy herself described the album as "a definite concept album in which she falls in love, experiences turbulence and then, in the end, finds the person she really wants to be with". With her brother Ray J she sang two duets ( Die Without You , Another Day in Paradise ). Michael Jackson sings the background vocals for It's Not Worth It , which Angel in Disguise samples.

Publication and criticism

After a long break, Brandy released the Phil Collins cover Another Day in Paradise with her brother in 2001 , which reached number 2 in the German single charts . The LP followed a few months later. Although the album was nominated for two Grammys in the categories of Best R&B Album and Best Remix Song , the criticism was mixed. The Rolling Stone wrote that the song "wild, faceless, fake-sexy R & B" on the album are only one type.

Despite the criticism, the album was an international success as it reached number two on the Billboard 200 and number one on the US R&B / Hip-Hop albums . The album went platinum in the US and gold in the UK. In many charts, Full Moon was able to stay in the top 20; but only in Germany , Switzerland , the USA , Canada and Great Britain did it reach the top ten.
