Life
Heinz Felbermair has received numerous international grants. He participated in art fairs and solo exhibitions in New York, Munich, Dubai, Marbella, Istanbul, Cannes, Berlin, Hamburg, Vienna and Florence, among others. He lives and works in Munich and in Styria.
In 1992 he founded the artists' initiative Art is what connects with Frank Radmacher . This resulted in the first aquatint - etchings . In 1993, Felbermaier was the initiator of the Munich Ateliertage Open Studio’s and met the Bauhaus student and painter, photographer and architect Rudolf Ortner , with whom he became friends.
Starting from a non-representational language of form, Felbermair developed the main motif characteristic of his painting between 1989 and 1994, namely the representation of people. From around 2001 onwards, in what he called “development”, the human figure took on increasingly real features and thus gained independence. At the same time, works are created that deal with the still life and landscape, as well as collages and sculptures .
Numerous solo exhibitions and participation in exhibitions follow. Works by Felbermair are represented in public and private collections. Since the beginning of 2007 Felbermair has been working on an extensive cycle of images entitled 40 Titans , in which he portrays and contrasts 40 people who are recognized as leading figures in the world of business. The 40 Titans picture cycle is a global canon of the most successful contemporary and historically successful entrepreneurs and business people.
“The '40 Titans' project thrives on the tension between the radically subjective view of artistic perception and the apparently objectifiable lifetime achievement of economically unusually successful people. The number '40' is not chosen by chance, since it has stood for 'great wholeness', for perfection since ancient times. "( Ulrich Hemel )
