Heinz Sanke

Heinz Friedrich Wilhelm Sanke (born March 28, 1915 in Berlin ; † March 25, 1997 there ) was a German geographer . The professor for political and economic geography was rector of the Humboldt University in Berlin from 1965 to 1967 .

Life

Heinz Sanke, the son of an advertising clerk , graduated from the Friedrich-Ebert-Oberrealschule Berlin in 1934 , graduated from the Berlin Business School in 1938 as a business school graduate, and received his doctorate there in 1941 with the properties, test methods and the selection of technical lubricants, metalworking and corrosion protection agents of mineral origin from the point of view of the industrial businessman and then served in the Wehrmacht until the end . In 1945 he joined the KPD and headed the vocational school in Werneuchen . 1946–1947 he taught at the FDGB federal school . At the end of 1948 he passed the oral teaching examination in geography at Humboldt University. His above-mentioned dissertation was recognized as evidence. Heinz Sanke qualified as Dr. sc. oec. (Economics) and in the same year headed the Institute for Economic Geography at Humboldt University as professor. From 1951 he worked as a full professor.

After 1967, Heinz Sanke reformed the training of certified teachers as part of the university reform in his field. In the German Academy of Sciences he was on the board of the Geography section.

Heinz Sanke retired in 1980. He died at the age of 82 and found his final resting place in the Friedrichsfelde central cemetery in Berlin.
