Marg Helgenberger
Marg Helgenberger (born November 16, 1958 in Fremont , Nebraska ; actually Mary Margaret Helgenberger ) is an American actress .
biography
Helgenberger has two siblings and grew up in North Bend , a small town on the Platte River in eastern Nebraska. Your family has German and Irish roots. Helgenberger attended Kearney State College and then moved to the Northwestern Alumnus School of Speech in Evanston, Illinois . She graduated with a degree in languages and drama. Helgenberger first came into contact with acting when she got the role of Blanche Dubois in a production at the University of Tennessee Williams ' end of the line Desires . In the meantime she worked as a weather announcer. The producer found that her name was too long and changed it to Margie McCarthy .
In 1981, a talent scout offered her a role in the television series Ryan's Hope , but Helgenberger initially wanted to finish college . The talent scout accepted this and got in touch when Helgenberger had finished university. This first television role as Siobhan Ryan in the television series, she played a total of five years.
From 1988 Helgenberger played in the television series China Beach . In 2000 she took on a leading role in the successful television series CSI: On the trail of the perpetrators , which she held until January 2012. For the 300th episode, which aired on October 23, 2013 on CBS, she returned in her old role for a guest appearance on the television series. Although she has mostly appeared in television films and series, she has also been cast in some feature films such as Bad Boys and Erin Brockovich .
2015 she starred in the third season of the CBS series Under the Dome , the role of Christine Price .
Awards and nominations
For her supporting role in China Beach , Helgenberger received the Q Award (Viewers of Quality Television) for each of the three seasons filmed and an Emmy in 1990. In addition, she was once in the final selection for the Golden Globe . CSI: Vegas earned her two leading actress nominations for Emmy and Golden Globe. In 2005 she was named Best Female TV Star at the People's Choice Awards .
She was also nominated for the Blockbuster Award for her supporting role in Erin Brockovich .
Private
Marg Helgenberger was married to Alan Rosenberg from September 9, 1989 to February 1, 2010 , whom she met on the set of Ryan's Hope in 1989 . The son Hugh Howard Rosenberg emerged from the marriage.
