Gustaf Johann Graf Taube von Odenkat ( Swedish : Gustaf Johan Taube af Odenkat; * July 17, 1796 in Risberga ( Östergötland , Sweden ), † September 22, 1872 ) was a Swedish count , court marshal and governor of the Stockholm Palace .
Life
Gustaf Johann, came from the German-Swedish-Baltic aristocratic family of the " von Taube ", he began his military service in 1815 in the Dragoons ' Leibregiment . In 1816 he was promoted to lieutenant and in 1818 to Rittmeister in the General Staff. Until 1828 he performed several tasks in the Swedish army and took his leave on April 14, 1829 as a major . In 1830 he became court marshal at the Swedish court and in 1832 governor of the Stockholm Palace.

Gustav Johann was the son of Gustaf Diedrich Count Taube von Odenkat (1761–1822) and Anna Margareta Fredrika von Strokirch (1786–1820). His brother Friedrich Wilhelm Taube von Odenkat (1813–1888) was a Swedish major general . Gustaf Johann was married to Christina Ulrika Lagerbring (1798–1862), who was court master of the royal children until 1836 . They had five sons, among whom and their descendants the countly succession changed:

- Gustaf Diedrich (Gösta) Count Taube von Odenkat (* 1823 in Stockholm, † 1887 in Vänersborg, Sweden) was material and financial administrator for the "Railway Company Uddevalla-Vänersborg-Herrljunga ". In 1852 he married Anna Maria Lindfors (1827-1852) in his first marriage and in 1866 his second marriage to Emilie Maria Lindquist. Gustaf Johann (1852–1895) came from the first marriage; from the second marriage came Carl Gustaf (1867–1941) and Eduard (1868–1888).

- Henning Adolf Graf Taube von Odenkat (1826–1880 in Stockholm) was a land surveying engineer and publicist . In 1850 he married Gertrud Helena Sofia Adelsköld (1828–1916), with her he had the following descendants: Henning Gustaf Johann Graf Taube von Odenkat (1851–1927); Arvid Fredrik Graf Taube von Odenkat (1853–1930), Carl Eberhard Graf Taube von Odenkat (1854–1934) and three other sons and five daughters.
- Henning Gustaf Johann Graf Taube von Odenkat (* 1851 in Låssa Upplands-Bro (municipality) , Sweden; † 1928 or 1927 in New York City ) was a wholesaler , industrialist and Vice President of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in the USA. He was the second heir to the count and married Margaret Madge Goodman-Eaton (1858–1931), her descendants were: Henning Oriel Taube (1884–1958), Margaret Kerstin Taube (* 1888), Kerstin Helene Taube (* 1893) and Arvid Eaton Taube (1894–1970), all born and died in the United States. Hereditary successor was his brother Carl Eberhard.
