Henning Ahrens (born November 22, 1964 in Peine ) is a German writer and literary translator .

Life

Henning Ahrens is the son of a farmer . He grew up near Peine and studied English , history and art history in Göttingen , London and Kiel . In 1995 he was at the University of Kiel with a thesis on John Cowper Powys to Doctor of Philosophy PhD . Ahrens now lives in Frankfurt am Main .

Henning Ahrens is the author of poetry and narrative prose . His two previous novels can be assigned to fantastic literature and, with their hyper-realistic portrayal of a dream world, are in the tradition of magical realism . Besides translated Ahrens from the English .
