Henning von Vieregge (publicist)

Henning von Vieregge (born December 28, 1946 in Lübeck ) is a German publicist and lecturer on the topics of association management, aging , engagement as well as church and civil society .

Life

After graduating from high school in Hanover, Vieregge completed his studies in political science , sociology and constitutional law in Bonn and Cologne from 1969 . In 1973 he founded with Ulrich von Alemann u. a. the DFG -funded “Study Group Participation Research ” in Bonn and received her doctorate in 1976 with magna cum laude from Karl Dietrich Bracher on the subject of “Foundations and their parties”. The work was funded by the Fritz Thyssen Foundation and published by Nomos-Verlag.

In 1978 Vieregge went to the VhU, the Hessian employers 'associations, to Hessen Metall, the metal employers' association and the Bildungswerk der Hessischen Wirtschaft in Darmstadt and Frankfurt, where he was most recently managing director of communications for the three organizations. In 1993 he moved to the General Association of Communication Agencies GWA as General Manager, where he resigned in 2009.

Since 2010 he has been a lecturer at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz , studying 50 plus, with the “Workshop University and Civil Society”, and from 2012 to 2014 lecturer at DHBW Heilbronn in the field of association management. He also works as a permanent editorial employee of the Association Report and since 2013 as an associated scientist at the Maecenata Institute, Berlin, and at the Social Science Institute of the EKD, Hanover. He is senior partner of the Wiesbaden innovation agency Neue Ufer.

From 2012 until the self-dissolution in 2015, he was chairman of the Aktion Gemeinschaftinn eV Bonn and until the end of 2013 he worked for many years on the board of trustees of the cooperation foundation . a. as chairman. Since 2018 he has been one of the two spokesmen for the citizens' initiative “Mainz for Gutenberg”.

Vieregge, divorced and widowed, is third married to the gynecologist Angela Westerburg. He has four children.

Henning von Vieregge (1872–1945) is his adoptive grandfather. The Vieregg / Vieregge / Viereck family lived in Mecklenburg for over 800 years until 1945.
