Henrik Ernst (born September 2, 1986 in Hanover ) is a German football player .
Career
Ernst began his career at Heesseler SV . At the age of 19 he moved to Hannover 96 and played mainly in the second team, for which he made his debut on August 26, 2007 under Andreas Bergmann in the league game against Holstein Kiel and played a total of 97 games in which he scored six goals .
In the 2009/10 Bundesliga season , Ernst made two professional appearances for the first team. He came on as a substitute for Didier Ya Konan on matchday nine against Eintracht Frankfurt in the 85th minute and for Sofian Chahed on matchday 12 against Hamburger SV in the 77th minute .
RB Leipzig
For the 2011/12 season Ernst moved to regional league club RB Leipzig on a free transfer . He was awarded a two-year contract. He made his debut for RB Leipzig on July 29, 2011 in the DFB Cup against VfL Wolfsburg under coach Peter Pacult . In his first season for Leipzig, Ernst made 29 league games and scored two goals. The announced ascent was missed. In the following season Ernst only made 19 appearances under the new coach Alexander Zorniger , most of them as substitutes. At the end of the season he won the championship with RB and rose to the 3rd division after two promotion games (here Ernst was also a substitute twice) . At the beginning of the third division season again only a substitute player, Ernst was in the starting line-up for the first time on matchday nine and then could not be displaced from his position. On the 24th game day, however, he tore the anterior cruciate ligament and a collateral ligament in a duel. This ended the season for him. At the end of the season, the team achieved promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga . Ernst did not play a competitive game again until 13 months after his injury - in March 2015 in the 0-1 away defeat with the U-23s against the second team from Dynamo Dresden . At the beginning of April 2015 he celebrated his comeback with the pros when he came on in the 87th minute of the 2-1 home win against 1. FC Nürnberg . It was his only second division game in the season. For the 2015/16 season Ernst moved to the RBL U-23 team in the regional league. Here he should take on the role of a leader.
Further career
After the Red Bulls canceled their U-23 team in summer 2017, Ernst returned to Hannover 96 and started for the second team. After the end of the 2018/2019 season, Ernst left Hanover and joined ZFC Meuselwitz in the Regionalliga Nordost .
