Herbert Haag Prize
The Herbert Haag Prize , named after the theologian Herbert Haag , is awarded to people and groups as well as for publications, conferences and research “who work for freedom and humanity within the Church”.

In 1985 the Herbert Haag Foundation for Freedom in the Church was founded in Lucerne . The foundation deals with the challenges facing the church and “awards recognition prizes to people and institutions at home and abroad who have exposed themselves to Christianity through free expression of opinion or courageous action” (foundation purpose). The foundation awards the Herbert Haag Prize for this purpose. Erwin Koller is the President of the Herbert Haag Foundation . The President Emeritus is Hans Küng .
