Herbie Langhans

Herbie Langhans is a German singer , songwriter and producer . He achieved fame through his bands Sinbreed , Beyond the Bridge and Seventh Avenue , as well as as a studio musician in rock and metal .

biography

At the age of 14 he joined the Wolfsburg-based band The Preachers as a rhythm guitarist and recorded his first CD / LP with the group in 1990. Two years later the band re- formed under the name Seventh Avenue . In the future, Langhans took over the lead vocals , lead guitar , songwriting and arrangements . From 2000 he produced the band's albums himself in his studio and toured Central Europe , South America and Scandinavia . During this time he worked a. a. with producers like Victor Smolski ( Rage ) .

In 2001 the producer Sascha Paeth ( Avantasia ) noticed him and hired Herbie Langhans to record the band Rhapsody ("Power of the Dragonflame"). In the following years Langhans and Paeth worked together for other productions by Avantasia, Aina , Kamelot and Beyond the Black .

In 2005 he joined the power metal band Sinbreed (members including Frederik Ehmke, Blind Guardian ), which brought out three albums "When Worlds Collide", "Shadows" and "Master Creator".

In 2010 he became part of the progressive metal band Beyond the Bridge , which received worldwide recognition from the press and critics with their debut album "The Old Man and the Spirit". In the current line-up he forms the singing duo with Maggy Luyten ( Ayreon , Beautiful Sin) . Keyboard player Simon Oberender died suddenly and unexpectedly in October 2012. On their homepage the band announced a creative break as well as the intention to continue in any case.

In 2015 he sang the official Wacken anthem together with Jennifer haben ( Beyond the Black ) at the W: O: A as part of the Rock Meets Classic performance.

In 2015 he joined Tobias Sammet ’s Avantasia and sang (choirs and partly solo) the album Ghostlights in the studio . The song "Draconian Love", a duet between Sammet and Herbie, was released as the second single on the album. He has been a permanent live band member of Avantasia since 2016 and shared the stage on the “Ghostlights World Tour” with other well-known rock artists such as Jørn Lande (Jorn), Eric Martin ( Mr. Big ), Bob Catley ( Magnum ), Michael Kiske ( Helloween ) and Ronnie Atkins ( Pretty Maids ).

In 2017 he joined the hard rock band Voodoo Circle and replaced David Readman as the front man. Together with the other members, Mat Sinner , Alex Beyrodt , Francesco Jovino (all Primal Fear ), the band released the album "Raised on Rock" in early 2018.

He is also currently concentrating on the production of the first album of his new band project Radiant . The debut album of the same name will be released in November 2018.

In March 2020 Langhans was announced as the new singer of the band Firewind .
