Hermann Precht

Hermann Precht (born June 11, 1937 in Schwäbisch Gmünd ; † October 22, 1997 in Stuttgart ) was a German educator and politician ( SPD ).

Life

After attending primary school, Precht completed a commercial apprenticeship and then worked as a commercial clerk in Schwäbisch Gmünd. On his second educational path, he made up his Abitur at the Ketteler College in Mainz in 1960 . He then studied Catholic theology , philosophy and sociology at the universities in Tübingen , Bonn and Frankfurt am Main . In 1964 he passed the theological exam at Tübingen University and then worked as a religion teacher. He completed further studies at the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education in 1968 with the examination for teaching at elementary schools and in 1969 with the examination for teaching at secondary schools. In the following years he worked as a secondary school teacher. In addition, he completed a scholarship from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation doctoral studies of modern German literature and linguistics at the University of Marburg , where he 1976 Dr. phil. (Dissertation: Socialist Realism in Erwin Strittmatter's Work ). After completing his doctorate , he worked as a teacher at a high school.

Precht joined the SPD in 1968 and was a member of the State Executive Committee of the Young Socialists in Baden-Württemberg from 1970 to 1971 . From 1973 to 1975 he was deputy chairman and from 1975 to 1978 chairman of the state arbitration commission of the SPD Baden-Württemberg . From 1978 to 1985 he was chairman of the SPD district association Bodenseekreis. In 1979 he became a district councilor for the Lake Constance district .

In the state elections in 1976 , 1980 and 1984 Precht was elected as a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg , of which he was a member until 1988. In parliament he represented a second mandate for the constituency of Lake Constance .

Since 1991 Precht has been the deputy managing director of the Baden-Württemberg Development Cooperation Foundation.

Hermann Precht was married and had three children.
