Hermann Günther Adolf von Le Suire (born October 7, 1861 in Ansbach , † June 6, 1933 in Unterwössen ) was a German landscape painter and landowner.

Life

origin

Hermann came from a Bavarian noble family of French descent. He was a son of the Bavarian major Maximilian von Le Suire (1825-1875) and his wife Karolina, née Winkler (1834-1884). His grandfather was the Bavarian Lieutenant General and War Minister Wilhelm von Le Suire .

Career

Le Suire studied from October 21, 1880 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich under August Fink , Ferdinand Feldhütter and Otto Strützel . During his studies in 1880 he became a member of the Alania student association (later merged with the Cimbria Munich fraternity ).

He became a member of the Reich Association of Fine Artists in Germany , the General German Art Cooperative and the Munich Luitpold Group . One of his friends was the painter Joseph Wenglein , who was 16 years his senior .

Hermann von Le Suire came to Unterwössen in 1890 and moved into a villa with a studio. He painted landscapes depicting the Wössen valley basin and the Chiemsee .

In Unterwössen he met Richard Strauss , who spent his holidays in neighboring Marquartstein in a summer villa, and the painter Anton Müller-Wischin, who lived there .

From 1889 he exhibited his works in the Munich Glass Palace and at exhibitions in Berlin , Bremen and Vienna .

family

Le Suire married Dorothea Neff (* 1869) on October 7, 1861 Euerdorf . The sons Wilhelm (* 1897) and Karl (1898–1954) emerged from the marriage.
