Heubachwiesen nature reserve (COE-001) (June 2014)

The Heubachwiesen nature reserve (COE-001) is located in the city of Coesfeld in the Coesfeld district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The 56.48 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1982 , extends north of Maria Veen , a district of Reken , directly on the state road  600 , which passes on the northwestern edge .

The nature reserve is part of the EU bird sanctuary " Heubach lowlands, Lavesumer Bruch and Borkenberge ".

The protection is provided for the preservation, promotion and restoration of communities or habitats, in particular of rare, partly endangered waders and meadow birds , geese and of rare, partly endangered plant communities of open water and wet grassland .
