The Hillscheider Bach (also Hillscheiderbach , on the upper reaches up to the Grundsmühle near Hillscheid also Kalter Bach , in Vallendar from the tributary of the Ferbach also Leerbach ) is a right tributary of the Rhine near Vallendar. It flows through the Westerwaldkreis and the Mayen-Koblenz district in Rhineland-Palatinate .
course
The Hillscheider Bach rises as a cold brook on the Montabaurer Höhe approx. 1.5 km southeast of the alarm pole (545 m) and approx. 1 km south of the Lippersberg (534 m) in the urban area of Montabaur at approx. 430 m. From here it flows as a border brook between Kadenbach / Neuhäusel and Hillscheid to the south-west and changes its name to Hillscheider Bach south of Hillscheid on the municipality border to Simmern near the Grundsmühle near the old bridge (190 m). From here it flows along and parallel to state road 309 to the west and meets the Vallendar district of Schoenstatt , where it first meets the pilgrims' church . Then the Wambach flows in from the left, then the Ferbach after the Schoenstatt Chapel from the right . From the tributary of the Ferbach, the creek in Vallendar is also called Leerbach. It turns to the southwest, flows approx. 200 m east of the center of Vallendar, goes into the piping approx. 300 m before the confluence and flows into the right arm of the Rhine flowing around Niederwerth before the municipality and inland island Niederwerth .
