The Borås University of Applied Sciences ( Swedish : Högskolan i Borås , English : University of Borås ) - HB for short - is a state university in the Swedish city ​​of Borås .

It was founded in 1977 and has been divided into three academies since 2014:

  • Academy for Textile, Technology and Economy
  • Academy for Health, Work and Welfare
  • Academy for Library, Information, Education and IT

In 2010 the university was allowed to award doctoral degrees.

Björn Brorström has been the rector since 2011.
