The Technical University of Blekinge ( Swedish : Blekinge Tekniska Högskola , English : Blekinge Institute of Technology ) - BTH for short - is a state-owned Swedish university in Blekinge län with campuses in Karlskrona and Karlshamn with over 3,819 full-time students (2009). It was founded in 1989. The university has university rights for the technical departments. The university has been climate neutral since September 1, 2008.
BTH is a member of the European University Association , the European Society for Engineering Education and the Association of Technical Universities in Scandinavia (NORDTEK).
campus
The university has two (formerly three) campuses:
- Gräsvik Campus in Karlskrona, since 1989
- Campus Karlshamn, since autumn 2000
- The Soft Center Campus in Ronneby was opened in 1989 and was integrated into the Gräsvik Karlskrona campus in 2010.
Together with the University of Växjö and the University of Kalmar, the university was involved in a strategic project from 2006 to 2008 to establish a Southeast Academy . On February 15, 2008, the university management decided not to merge with the other two universities, which led to the establishment of Linnaeus University .
