The Finnmark University of Applied Sciences (Norwegian: Høgskolen i Finnmark ) short HiF - was a state university in the Norwegian cities of Alta and Hammerfest ( Troms og Finnmark ) with around 2000 students and 240 employees (2006). It was founded in 1994. In August 2013 it merged with the University of Tromsø and now forms the UiT — Norway's Arctic University — with this and other universities in Northern Norway .
