The Vestfold University of Applied Sciences ( Norwegian : Høgskolen i Vestfold , abbr .: HiVe) was a state university in the province of Vestfold og Telemark ( Norway ) with around 3000 students, 300 employees (2006) and based in the cities of Borre and Tønsberg .

It was founded in 1994 through the merger of Eik lærerhøyskole , University Center Vestfold and Vestfold sykepleierhøgskole as part of the university reform . In 2014 HiVe merged with the Buskerud University to form the University of Buskerud and Vestfold , which in turn merged two years later with the Telemark University to form the University of Southeast Norway . On May 4, 2018, it finally became the University of Southeast Norway .

The HiVe was divided into four faculties:

  • Faculty of Health Science
  • Faculty of Humanities and Education
  • Faculty of Technology and Maritime Subjects
  • Faculty of Economics and Social Science
