Hope Church

The Protestant Church of Hope is at Tile-Brugge-Weg 49 in the Berlin district of Tegel in the Reinickendorf district . It was created between 1959 and 1960 based on a design by Otto Risse in the architectural style of post-war modernism .

history

Because of the growing number of inhabitants in Tegel, efforts have been made since 1949 to divide the parish of the Alt-Tegel village church . On August 11, 1954, the parish council decided to set up a parish base in the Tegel-Süd part of the parish, and later the Martinus Church was built. For the parish of Neu-Tegel, rooms were rented on October 1 of the same year for his imminent independence. On March 15, 1955, a church building association was founded for this parish . The parish of Berlin-Tegel was divided into three independent parishes in 1957, namely the Evangelical Parish Alt-Tegel, the Evangelical Parish Neu-Tegel and the Evangelical Parish Tegel-Süd. On June 26, 1959, the foundation stone was laid for the church in Neu-Tegel, and on October 3, 1960, its inauguration. In 1961 the church was named Hope Church. The hope parish Tegel is today one of nineteen parishes in the Reinickendorf parish , which belongs to the Berlin district of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia .
