In Azerbaijan, homosexuality is taboo in large parts of society.

Homosexual acts have been legal in Azerbaijan since 2000. There are no anti-discrimination laws protecting sexual orientation in Azerbaijan. The age of consent is uniformly 16 years.

Recognition of same-sex couples

There is no recognition of same-sex marriages , and registered partnerships are not allowed.

Social situation

A LGBT Association of there on a small scale in the capital Baku . Most of the opinion published by the state discriminates against homosexual people in Azerbaijan and state authorities such as the police harass LGBT activists in the country.
