description

The ship was on the shipyard and shipbuilding SET. Development company Tangermünde built. The keel was laid in July 2017, the launch on April 13, 2018. The ship was christened on May 31, 2018 in Husum . Godmother was the State Secretary in the Ministry for Energy Transition, Agriculture, Environment, Nature and Digitization of the State of Schleswig-Holstein , Anke Erdmann . The ship replaces a predecessor of the same name, which was in service for 34 years.

The construction costs of the ship, a sister ship to Oland , which was commissioned in 2016 , amounted to 4.2 million euros. The ship is named after the Hallig Hooge .

The ship is used in the coastal protection of the Schleswig-Holstein North Sea coast and the offshore islands and Halligen . In addition, it can be used with a silt harrow for clearing the outer depths as well as for measuring and sounding journeys. It is equipped with a plumbing and measuring system for this purpose and for checking and logging completed construction and repair work . Finally, the ship can also be used for ecological monitoring in the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park , e.g. B. the inventory of sea birds and marine mammals .

The flat bottom of the hull allows the ship to fall dry in the Wadden Sea .

The drive takes place by two Volvo Penta diesel engines of D9 series, each with 221  kW power . The motors act on two propellers via gears . The ship reaches a speed of around 10  knots . A generator with 163  kVA apparent power is available for power generation, which is driven by a Volvo Penta diesel engine of the D7 series. An emergency and harbor generator is air-cooled and takes over the power supply when the ship has run dry. The ship is equipped with a bow thruster , which is designed as a hydraulic water jet propulsion .

A crane is installed on the aft deck, with which materials can be moved, but also navigation signs or measuring devices can be placed in the water or recovered.
