The Huacullani district is located in the Chucuito province in the Puno region in southern Peru . The district has an area of 627 km² (according to other sources: 705 km²). The 2017 census counted 9,237 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 5678, in 2007 it was 14,906. The administrative seat of the district is the 3937 m high town of Huacullani with 2466 inhabitants (as of 2017). Huacullani is about 50 km south-southeast of the provincial capital July .
Geographical location
The Huacullani district is located in the Altiplano south-southwest of Lake Titicaca in the central west of the Chucuito province.
The district of Huacullani borders in the south with the district Pisacoma , in the southwest with the district Santa Rosa , in the west with the district Conduriri (both in the province El Collao ), in the northwest with the district Juli , in the north with the district Pomata , in the northeast to the district of Zepita and to the southeast to the district of Kelluyo .
