The defending champion in the singles was Shahar Peer , who did not take part in the tournament. In doubles, Tímea Babos and Michaëlla Krajicek were the defending champions, who also failed to defend their title.

The winner in the singles was the fourth seeded Anna-Lena Friedsam , the doubles won the Taiwanese pairing Chan Chin-wei / Chuang Chia-jung .

Qualification for the Huangcangyu WTA Suzhou Ladies Open 2014 should take place on August 30, 2014. There should have been four qualifying places that would have allowed participation in the main draw of the tournament. Since only five players registered for qualification and Nadija Kitschenok was out of the main field, all five players of the qualification in the main field could be drawn.
