Hubert Schaller-Kalide (born December 19, 1882 in Sorau in Silesia , † January 6, 1976 in Munich ) was a German infantry general .

Military background

Hubert Schaller-Kalide began his career on March 29, 1900 as a flag junior with the 1st Rhenish Infantry Regiment "von Lützow" No. 25. Further career steps followed quickly. On November 20, 1900, he was promoted to ensign . Promoted to lieutenant on August 18, 1901 . On May 1, 1925, Hubert Schaller-Kalide was promoted to commander of the 1st Battalion of the 3rd Infantry Regiment in Marienwerder in West Prussia . On February 1, 1928, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel. In 1928 he was transferred to the infantry school in Dresden . On November 1, 1930 he was promoted to colonel. On May 1, 1931, Schaller-Kalide was appointed commander of the 18th Infantry Regiment in Paderborn . On April 1, 1933, he was promoted to major general. On September 30, 1933, he was transferred from active service to retirement.

In October 1935 he was ordered back from retirement to active service in the German Wehrmacht and on October 15, 1935, he was appointed commander of Army Service 7 in Stuttgart . In 1936 he was appointed commander of the 25th Infantry Division . On October 6, 1936, he was transferred and appointed commander of the 35th Infantry Division . On April 1, 1937, he was promoted to lieutenant general. On August 26, 1939 he was appointed commander of military district XVIII in Salzburg . On December 1, 1940, he was promoted to General of the Infantry. He retired on March 31, 1943.
