IC 1337 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sb in the constellation of Capricorn on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 416 million light years from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light years in diameter .
The galaxies IC 1335 and IC 1338 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on July 22, 1892 .
