IC 1336 is a spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type Sab in the constellation Capricorn on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 379 million light years from the Milky Way and about 90,000 light years in diameter .
The galaxies NGC 6986 and IC 1339 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on August 17, 1892 .
