IC 1321 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Capricorn on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 302 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 100,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 6912 and IC 1319 , among others .
The type II supernova SN 2003gg was observed here.
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on August 17, 1892 .
