IC 2735 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sab with an active galaxy core in the constellation Great Bear in the northern sky . It is an estimated 479 million light years from the Milky Way and about 140,000 light years in diameter .

The Type Ia supernova SN 1990G was observed here.
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on May 22, 1903 .
