IC 3723 is a compact galaxy of Hubble type C in the constellation Canes Venatici on the northern sky . It is estimated to be 243 million light years from the Milky Way and about 20,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4655 , IC 3713 , IC 3726 , IC 3758 .
The object was discovered by Max Wolf on March 21, 1903 .
