IC 1118 = IC 4543 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type S in the constellation Snake in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 303 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 90,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky there are u. a. the galaxies NGC 5926 .
The object was discovered on July 29, 1891 by the French astronomer Stéphane Javelle .
