Messier 25 (M25, also known as IC 4725 ) is one of the five brightest open star clusters in the summer constellation Sagittarius (Sagittarius). It has a brightness of +4.6 mag and an angular extent of 32 '.

A few degrees to the west - almost in the center of the Milky Way - lies the small Sagittarius cloud (M24) and the star cluster Messier 23, which is comparable to M25 .
