IC 4705 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBa in the constellation Peacock in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 155 million light years from the Milky Way and about 75,000 light years in diameter.
Together with IC 4682 , IC 4704 , IC 4712 and PGC 61930 , it forms the IC 4682 group .
The Type Ia supernova NAME AT 2016cqz was observed here.
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on August 20, 1900 .
