IC 4692 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Peacock in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 212 million light years from the Milky Way and about 85,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 4686 , IC 4687 , IC 4689 , IC 4694 .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on September 14, 1901 .
