IC 4727 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Peacock in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 200 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light-years across. Together with thirty other galaxies, it forms the IC 4765 group ( LGG 422 ).
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 4726 , IC 4728 , IC 4731 , IC 4737 .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on July 20, 1901 .
