IC 4866 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sb in the constellation Peacock in the southern sky . It is around 184 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 85,000 light years . The galaxy is considered a member of the IC 4845 group ( LGG 427 ).

The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on August 14, 1901 .
