IC 4919 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBd in the constellation Telescope in the southern sky . It is around 188 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 85,000 light years .
The galaxies NGC 6848 , NGC 6850 , IC 4908 , IC 4933 are located in the same area of the sky .
The Type Ia supernova SN 1991ag was observed here.
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on October 3, 1901 .
