Idalys Ortíz Bocourt (born September 27, 1989 in Pinar del Río ) is a Cuban heavyweight judoka and two-time world champion and Olympic champion at the 2012 Olympic Games in London .

Ortíz won her first international title at the Pan American Championships in 2007, after having previously won several international tournaments. At the 2007 World Championships , she finished fifth in the open class. In 2008 Ortíz won her first of five consecutive Cuban championship titles and again won the Pan American Championships. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 she lost the heavyweight division against the later Olympic champion Tong Wen from China, but then fought her way to the bronze medal.

In 2009 Ortíz won two titles (heavyweight and open class) at the Pan American Championships. At the 2009 World Championships , she received a bronze medal in the heavyweight division. In 2010 she defended both titles at the Pan American Championships and again received bronze at the World Championships . In 2011 she won the heavyweight division at the Pan American Championships and finished fifth at the World Championships . In October 2011 she won the heavyweight division at the Pan American Games . In 2012 she won the Olympic gold medal in London after beating 2008 Olympic champion Tong Wen in the semifinals.

In 2013, the 1.73 m tall Ortíz won the heavyweight titles at the Pan American Championships and at the World Championships , both titles she was able to defend in 2014. In 2015 she won the Pan American Championships and the Pan American Games , and she received the bronze medal at the 2015 Judo World Championships . In 2016 she won the Pan American Championships again. In the final of the 2016 Olympic Games, she lost to the French Émilie Andéol .

At the end of 2017 Ortíz won bronze at the World Championships in the open class. In spring 2018 she won the Pan American Championships. At the Judo World Championships 2018 she reached the final and lost there to the Japanese Sarah Asahina . In 2019, she won the Pan American Championships in April and the Pan American Games in August . Three weeks after the Pan American Games, she reached the final at the World Championships in Tokyo , where she was defeated by the Japanese Akira Sone .
