Igbaras ( Filipino : Bayan ng igbaras , Hiligaynon : Sangguniang Bayan igbaras ) is a metropolitan area municipality in the province Iloilo on the island of Panay in the Philippines . It has 32,004 inhabitants (August 1st 2015 census) who live in 46 barangays . It belongs to the first income bracket of the communities in the Philippines and is described as partially urban .
Igbaras is inland on the island of Panay, the capital of the province, Iloilo City , is about 33 km east of the municipality and can be reached from there by bus or jeepney . The neighboring communities are Sibalom in the west, Miagao in the southwest, Tubungan in the northeast and Guimbal in the south. The topography of the municipality is determined by a gently rolling landscape that merges into the Central Panay Mountains in the north .
