Duma gas ( Filipino : Bayan ng Duma gas , Hiligaynon : Sangguniang Bayan Duma gas ) is a metropolitan area municipality in the province Iloilo on the island of Panay in the Philippines . It has 69,108 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who live in 45 barangays . It belongs to the first income bracket of the communities in the Philippines and is described as partially urban .
Dumangas is on the east coast on Panay Island, at the entrance to Guimaras Strait , across from Guimaras Island and Negros . The capital of the province, Iloilo City , is located approx. 28 km northeast of the municipality and can be reached from there by bus or jeepney . The neighboring communities are Zarraga and Pototan in the west, Leganes in the southwest, Barotac Nuevo in the north, Santa Barbara in the northwest. The topography of the municipality is determined by flat lands and a hilly landscape in the interior of the island.
