Ike Fraizer

Isaac "Ike" Peter Fraizer (born December 2, 1874 in Marshall , Illinois , † September 16, 1932 in Miami , Arizona ) was an American politician ( Republican Party ).

Career

Isaac Peter Fraizer, son of Flora Etta Reddish (1853-1929) and Jesse Fraizer (1850-1907), was born in 1874 in Clark County, Illinois. The family then moved before 1876 to Missouri and settled there in Rolla ( Phelps County ) down. Subsequently, at least four of his siblings were born there: Sarah Catherine (1876–1940), James Garfield (1881–1955), Charles Thomas (1889–1965), and Claude McKinley (1897–1963). Fraizer then went to the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy (MSM), where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Science in 1900 . On January 5, 1905, he married the Irish immigrant Margaret Gilroy (1880-1907). In 1910 he moved to the Arizona Territory and settled there near Elgin ( Santa Cruz County ). In the following years he worked as a mining and civil engineer. He also had a job as chief maintenance engineer with the State Highway Department. It is likely that he married his second wife Daisy Elvira Slater (1894–1979) in Arizona.

From 1921 to 1923 he served in the Arizona House of Representatives . The governor of Arizona John Calhoun Phillips appointed him on January 30, 1929 Secretary of State of Arizona to the vacancy to fill, by the death of John C. Callaghan was born. In this connection, the following should be mentioned: George W. Nickle was appointed Secretary of State of Arizona on January 29, 1929, but declined his appointment the following day. Fraizer served as Secretary of State for Arizona until 1931.

He later started working as a manager at Texaco Oil Company . He died in an explosion and fire at a Texaco Oil Company gasoline storage plant. His body was then interred in the city ​​cemetery in Nogales, Santa Cruz County. His two younger brothers, James and Charles, are also buried there.
