Park In-bee (born July 12, 1988 in Seoul ; also known as Inbee Park ) is a South Korean professional golfer .

Career

Park started golfing at the age of ten and moved to the United States two years later to focus more on golf. She won numerous junior titles there. In 2007 she became a professional player and a year later she won her first major tournament, the United States Women's Open Championship . Six other major titles followed by 2015, one more time at the United Stats Women's Open Championship, once at the Kraft Nabisco Championship , three times at the LPGA Championship and once at the Women's British Open . On April 15, 2013, she took the lead in the world rankings for the first time . It has been at the top for a total of 106 weeks, 59 of them in a row. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where a golf competition was held for the first time after a break of 112 years, she won the gold medal ahead of Lydia Ko .

Park holds a degree from Kwangwoon University in Seoul.
