Innokenty Dmitriyevich Meltschakow ( Russian Иннокентий Дмитриевич Мельчаков ; born February 8 . Jul / 21st February  1907 greg. In Irkutsk , † unknown) was a Russian architect and university lecturer .

Life

Meltchakov entered IL Kopylov's art studio in Irkutsk in 1927, and left in 1930 with the title of artist - technician . He then went to Leningrad and studied architecture at the University of Applied Arts. While studying, he worked on projects on the design of Leningrad and did not stop drawing. At the exhibition of young artists he exhibited his architectural drawings and landscapes that showed his mastery. With the thesis Estate in Leningrad , he completed his studies and then to the request to the Director of the Architecture Academy postgraduate accepted. He already took part in competitions and in 1937 proposed a project for a monument to the heroes of the stratosphere , which was awarded a prize by the academy. He also designed the Moscow Ismailovskaya metro station .

In 1838 Meltschakow was sent to the USA to work on the Soviet pavilion at the 1939 New York World's Fair . Together with JJ Lansere and AM Solowjew, he designed the interior of the pavilion to depict the performance of the Soviet Union's economy . He also made drawings of the pavilions of France , Japan , Belgium and other countries, which he exhibited in the Moscow House of Architecture in 1941.

In the first days of the German-Soviet War , Meltschakow was tasked with camouflaging the Moscow production plants and protecting the industrial zones.

In 1943 Meltschakow began teaching at the Moscow Architecture Institute at the invitation of IW Scholtowski . From 1943 Meltschakow designed monuments and participated in all-union competitions. In particular, together with SS Nanuschjan and the sculptors P. Waiwada, B. Petrauskas, B. Pundzius , R. Jakimavičius , K. Jaroschtschunas and K. Bogdanas under the direction of J. Mikėnas, he designed the memorial of the 1200 guardsmen of the 11th Guard Army for the fallen of the storm on Koenigsberg in later Kaliningrad on Gwardeiski Prospect . After winning the competition, he traveled to Königsberg to study the location. Construction of the facility began on September 30, 1945, and the Eternal Flame was lit on May 9, 1960 . Together with Nikolai Dzhemovich Kolli , Meltschakow created the Kalinin tomb on the Moscow Kremlin wall and a memorial to General Brusilov .

In 1948 Meltschakow designed the pavilion of the USSR together with the artist Roshdestvensky at the II World Congress of the International Democratic Women's Federation in Budapest . In the 1950s he participated in the construction of the triumphal arches in Kiev and Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the unification of Ukraine with Russia .

Meltschakow created the main entrance gate to the All-Russian Agricultural Exhibition (WSChW) , which reopened in 1954 , and he participated in the pavilions of the Estonian , Latvian and Lithuanian Soviet Republics there.

In 1966 Melchakov was awarded the Order of the Red Labor Banner . In 1977, on his 70th birthday and 50th anniversary of his work, an exhibition with 250 of his architecture pictures and drawings was dedicated to him, also from his travels in Greece , Italy and England . In 1983 he was on the painting - Chair appointed the Moscow Architecture Institute.
