International working group of waterworks in the Danube catchment area

The International Working Group of Waterworks in the Danube Basin (IAWD), based in Vienna , was founded in 1993. The purpose of the association is to improve and secure the water quality of the Danube and its tributaries. The management is in the hands of Wiener Wasserwerke ( Municipal Department 31).

At the national and international level, the IAWD supports efforts to defend against and eliminate dangers to the water supply due to pollution and other impairments. The purity of surface water and groundwater is to be maintained and increased. It should be ensured that the members always have drinking water in sufficient quantities.

As an activity of the IAWD was, according to the adopted on 28 October 1993 at the General Assembly in Constanta ( Romania amended) on 23 June 1998 Statutes all the water catchment area of the Danube and its tributaries and all areas from which water for public water supply in the specified areas is delivered.

Members

Membership in the IAWD is possible as a full, extraordinary, supporting and honorary member.

Ordinary members

Only legal persons of the public water supply who are active in the field of activity can join the IAWD as full members.
