Isaiah Firebrace (2017)

Isaiah Firebrace (born November 21, 1999 in Moama , New South Wales ), also Isaiah for short , is an Australian pop singer . He won the eighth season of the Australian edition of The X Factor in 2016 .

Career

Firebrace was born to Australian Aborigines , the ethnic group of the Yorta Yorta on the father's side and the Gunditjmara on the mother's side, in New South Wales . He made his first public appearance at a Fast Track Song Contest in Melbourne and took part in the 8th season of the Australian edition of The X-Factor and won. In 2017 he received a scholarship to the David Jaanz School of Singing in Camberwell , Victoria .

After winning the final of The X Factor on November 21, 2016, his 17th birthday, he received a recording contract with Sony Music and his single It's Gotta Be You reached number 26 on the Australian charts. His debut album Isaiah , released two weeks later, reached number twelve.

On March 7, 2017, SBS announced that Firebrace would represent Australia with the song Don't Come Easy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiev . There he was able to qualify for the final and finished in ninth place.
