The 2012/13 season was the 22nd season of the Icelandic Ice Hockey League , the highest Icelandic ice hockey league . The first team of Skautafélag Akureyrar , the SA Vikingar , became champions for the 16th time in the club's history .

In the main round, the six teams played 16 games each. The two best-placed teams qualified for the championship finals. Each team received three points for a win after regular time, two points for a win after overtime, one point for a loss after overtime and zero points for a defeat after regular time.
